Week of September 23rd to 27th

Grade 1
This week we read the story What Colour is your Underwear by Sam Lloyd. We reviewed colours by looking at what colour where the animal's underwear. The kids loved the book. Ask them what colour where the elephant's underwear!

Grade 2
This week we read the book The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt. It is the story about how someone's crayons went on strike and did not want to work anymore! So the student read all of his crayons letters of complaint and then found a solution to take care of the problems. It is a really cute book to review colours in second grade. We then wrote our own letter telling our favourite crayon why we don't want them to go on strike!

Grade 3
Ped Day on Wedneday so I only saw a group or two of grade 3s this week. We are continuing our activity book and we are working on the them of body parts.

Have a great end of the week and weekend

Grade 2
We also worked with colours and read the story: The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt. The kids then have to complete a letter to their favourite crayon and give them 3 reasons why they need them to continue working. The kids were really great.

Grade 3
We started a new unit and we will work on vocabulary related to body parts. We will have to write a small description of a new video game character and have a drawing of our new character. They are really strong groups and we are moving along the book quickly! Great work everyone!

Week of September 9th to 13th

Great news!! We are finally getting a MIRA dog. I will be picking him/her up on Wednesday the 18th of September so the students will be getting to see the puppy soon. They were very happy to hear the news!
For the classes that have an allergic student the dog will be sent to the class of Miss Ioana or another classroom as to not disturb the student with allergies. Thank you for your support with this wonderful project.

Grade 1
This week we learned to say hello and how are you in English as a part of the classroom routine. We will be using these words a lot so I encourage the kids to use them and practice them as much as we can even when I see them outside of class! They are getting so good!
Here are the links to the videos for our how are you song:

Enjoy!

Grade 2
This week I asked the students to share with me their summer vacation. They wrote a sentence about their vacation and then they drew that memory. We then had them present each of their vacation to the class in English of course! They did so well and they all really enjoyed their summer!

Grade 3
This week we continued working on our school object vocabulary and will continue with this theme for a few more classes. I will be sending them some words to study as well as some work to be done in their Activity book. Please encourage them to do their homework and study their words. A test will be given at the end of the unit.

Thank you all for a great week! Enjoy your weekend!
