Grade 3

I did not see the students this week as it was a Ped Day on Wednesday. They do have to study the vocabulary words related to school supplies and finish their page 11 in their New Adventures activity book please.

Grade 2 Week of September 20th to 24th, 2021

This week we continued working on school behaviour and rules. We read the story when Monsters go to School. You can guess the bad behaviour the monsters can have at school! Then we had a sorting activity where the students had to put the correct behaviour in the correct bin (good behaviour vs bad behaviour). Then we cut the images and glued them on a page.

We also read the story Pete The Cat rocking in my school shoes by James Dean. The students LOVE Pete The Cat! Here is the link to the book reading and song: Pete the Cat rocking in my school shoes.

Enjoy!

Grade 1 week of September 20th to 24th, 2021

This week, I finished the other groups and showed them the colour song. We played with colours and reading with a little activity that the students have to place the clothes pin on the correct word. They were really good.

We also read the book Pinkalicious by Victoria Kann and Elizabeth Kann. The story is about a little girl who likes pink cupcakes a bit too much... Ask your kids what happens next!

Here is a link to Pinkalicious and Peterrific, a little TV series about the book characters. It is about 25mins long if you want to encourage your kids to watch a bit of English TV. Enjoy!

Have a great weekend.

Grade 3 September 6th to 17th, 2021

These past two weeks we have been working on school objects, the articles a\an and the verb is\are. A lot of work is being done in these classes! I see their class for 1hour and 30 minutes so the class is well packed with a lot of work.

They have homework for next week (they must complete p. 11 in their New Adventures) book for our next class (Wednesday September 29th). Please encourage them to complete the page because it becomes a great resource for them during the school year. Also, you can help them by working on reviewing school object vocabulary.

Thank you for your support!

Grade 2 Week of September 6th to 17th 2021

The first week I asked the student to tell me about their summer vacation and share an activity they did during their time off school. Everyone seems to have a wonderful summer!

We then prepared our English book and glued our smiley page. The smiley page will be used to encourage good behaviour, participation and attention in class. You will be asked to sign the book when I send it home to have a look at the work that we have done.

We then did a colours revision with a colour scavenger hunt around the classroom. (see the pictures bellow) We then worked on a colour resource page with new colours like gold, silver, beige, navy blue.

We read and worked on the books:

David goes to School by David Shannon

Picture day Perfection by Deborah Diesen

Grade 1 week of September 6th to 17th 2021

These past two weeks we have been learning about greetings in English. We listened and sang the song: Hello how are you by Super Simple Songs. The students LOVE this song so I am not surprised if you have already heard it at home!

We then prepared our English work book with our smiley page. The students will use the smiley page to track their participation in English class and I also use it to encourage good behaviour in class.

We also worked on colours and learned the colour song (on the air of Frère Jacques):

blue yellow red (2x)

purple pink (2x)

orange brown and green (2x)

black and white (2x)

We then had a scavenger colour hunt around the class with the song: I see something blue by Super Simple Songs

You can click on the links and I encourage you to practice at home!

Enjoy!
