Week of January 17th to 20th

Grade 3

This week we continued working on our clothes and accessories. The students had to finish their bingo page also so that they can play with those who had completed it as homework. We worked on the written task and we worked on learning our vocabulary. 

Grade 2

This week we continued working on our winter theme and read the story Snow By Roy Mckie and P.D Eastman. We explore the different winter activities that we can do in the snow. The students then had to make a page to describe their favourite winter activity. The drawings are really well done! Good job!

 Grade 1

This week we continued our winter theme and worked on snowman. We read the story of a snowman that was always cold. His name was Sneezy. He found a few solutions but they were not the best ideas. It was a good thing that he had friends to help him find new ideas to keep him warm!

Grade 3 Week of November 22 to 25th

 Last week we finished our rough draft and we started working on our good copy and illustration. I will be correcting the texts this weekend and the students should be getting their grades by next week. They are doing well for their first written text. I am proud of them!

Grade 2 Week of Nov 22 to 25th

 This week we read the story The very cranky bear by Nick Bland. The story is about a bear that can't sleep and each of the animals have a different solution to help him sleep! It is the cutest story. We then had the student retell the story in order and had stations where the kids could work and learn the vocabulary in the story. 

They loved it!

Grade 1 Week of November 22 to 25

 This week we read the book There was an old lady who swallowed a fly. The students then made a lady with a bag and they could feed the lady with the animals she ate. The kids were able to finish them and bring them home so go ahead and ask them to retell you the story!

Grade 3 Week of November 15th to 17th

 This week we worked on our rough written draft for our first written text in English. Don't worry, I do it slowly and very easy for the first couple of times. I am offering remedial (récupération) on Wednesdays at lunch (12:30 to 12:50) if you would think your child would benefit from this time. This is a time for them to prepare for the upcoming class that I will be teaching. Thank you and have a great week!

Grade 2 Week of November 15th to 17th

 This week we read the book The very hungry bear by Nick Bland. The kids LOVE this book! Ask your kids what happened to our friendly brown bear that found some food from the polar bear in exchange for helping him find the polar bear a home. For our 30 mins class we worked on numbers and the students had to count the number of cubes by measuring the animals on the page. A lot of practicing numbers and English :-)
