Grade 1
This week we worked on the book Brown Bear Brown Bear. We read the book then we had a sequencing activity where the students had to place the animals seen from the book in order. For our 30 mins class we played games related to our story. The kids had to place the words with the image, had a colour puzzle to make, word and image combinations etc. The kids had a lot of fun. Here are some pictures of our week.
These past two weeks we worked on our bear theme. We read the book We're going on a bear Hunt. The kids had to replace the places we had to go through to get to the bear cave in order. We had a lot of fun. We also learned the song We are going on a bear hunt By Kidboomers. You can practice at home!
The next week we worked on the book Polar Bear, Polar Bear, what do you hear? by Eric Carle. On our 30mins class we worked on making our Polar Bear puzzle.
These past two weeks we have returned to our normal theme of colours, numbers and animals. We read the story Pete the Cat, I love my white shoes. We then did a colour by number activity page. On our 30 mins class we worked on matching the coloured objects with the shoe colour. The students were very good and interested.
The next week (Nov. 8th-11th) we sang the song I see something pink from Super Simple Songs to practice our colour observation skills. We then made a magnifying glass as to become better colour detective. We then sang the song again and the students circulated around the classroom finding the different colours using their magnifying glass. It was so cute!

This week we read the book The little old lady who was not afraid of anything. We then went over the vocabulary and placed the events of the story in the correct order. We also played Halloween Bingo for our 30min class.
This week we had a oral evaluation on body parts and adjectives. We then had a game and then a special Halloween movie.
